Designing Scalable Learning Pathways from Credentials to Careers
Transforming digital credentials into structured, verifiable learning and career journeys Pathways is Accredible’s program-design engine that enables organizations to connect credentials, requirements, and milestones into structured learning journeys—supporting outcomes such as diplomas, certification programs, and job titles. It marked a major shift in Accredible’s platform: from issuing standalone credentials to representing progress, intent, and readiness across learning and employment pathways.
Accredible supports millions of learners and thousands of organizations issuing digital credentials globally.
Before Pathways, issuers relied on Collections—flat groupings of credentials with no order, logic, or progression.
While useful for organization, they failed to function as learning programs or communicate value to learners and employers.
Organizations needed a way to:
Define structured programs
Express progression and prerequisites
Automate credential issuance at key milestones
Clearly communicate learning journeys and outcomes
My Role | Senior Product Designer — End-to-end ownership
Led UX strategy, system design, and execution from concept through multi-phase rollout.
Partnered closely with Product and Engineering to design a flexible system capable of supporting diverse issuer use cases while remaining scalable and maintainable.

How it started?
Design a single system that could model real-world learning and career programs—while handling:
Ordered and non-linear progression
Required, optional, and conditional completion logic
Automated issuance of milestone credentials
Large, complex programs that exceed a single screen
A coherent learner experience across web and mobile
All without overwhelming issuers or learners.
Designed Pathways, a node-based program architecture that allows issuers to visually build structured learning journeys by connecting credential groups, requirements, and logic.
Key capabilities:
A scalable, scrollable canvas for building large programs
Nodes representing meaningful stages of progress
Flexible completion rules (e.g. complete 2 of 3)
Auto-issued milestone credentials upon completion
Support for non-credential requirements (degrees, exams, experience, licenses)
Linked pathways to represent career progression (e.g. Junior → Senior → Principal)
On the learner side:
Clear progress tracking and completion percentages
Smart next-step recommendations
Shareable pathway progress tied to identity
Fully accessible on mobile via adaptive navigation
Outcome
Pathways became a foundational capability for Accredible’s long-term vision—enabling the platform to represent not just credentials, but structured learning journeys and career readiness.
It unlocked:
Program-level credentialing (not just single achievements)
Increased learner engagement through guided progression
Automated, trust-based credential issuance at scale
A critical step toward Accredible becoming the source of truth for learning and employment records
